Chelsea striker, Diego Costa has revealed that guarantees over regular game-time will influence his decision to remain at the Stamford Bridge next season.

The 28-year-old forward has been heavily linked with a move to Chinese Super League since reportedly falling out with Antonio Conte in January.

The Spain international has openly admitted he wanted to leave the west London club last summer, with Atletico Madrid believed to be considering a move, but Costa says he is now enjoying his time at Stamford Bridge.

During his interview with Chelsea official website, the former Atletico Madrid ace spoke about his future: ‘I want to play – playing right now is great. We are playing to win a championship.

‘During the previous season I was out a lot of the time, either because of a suspension or an injury or for another reason. So this year I really want to play the remaining matches and enjoy myself here in Chelsea.’

The Spaniard’s 17 Premier League goals this season has helped Antonio Conte’s side charge seven points clear at the top of the league.

And Costa insists Chelsea’s ascent can be traced back to when Antonio Conte changed the team’s formation earlier in the campaign.

He added: ‘The team is more compact, we feel more confident. The formation Antonio has introduced has been really good for us.

“It has been impressive because there are players who had never played in the positions they are playing now and they are actually doing really well. I always enjoy playing, always try to give the best of me. Whatever the formation I always try to play well and score in order to help the team.”
