Rev. Victor Enis of the Air Force Protestant Church, Benin, on Sunday called on soldiers to be faithful and focused on their professional calling.

Enis, a Flight Lieutenant, made the call at a special church service of the 107 Air Force Maritime Group to mark the Nigeria Air Force Day.

Speaking on the topic, ”A good Soldier of Christ,’’ Enis said that there was something good in being a soldier, bearing in mind scriptural readings.

He said a soldier has a responsibility to lay down his life for the peace of his country, stressing that without faithfulness, obedience, loyalty and focus, this would be impossible.

Enis also said that a good soldier must be a good follower of order and must be willing to make sacrifices.

He further said that as soldiers of Christ, Christians ought to be vigilant and prepared at all times.

The Commander of the 107 Maritime Group, Group Capt. Enobong Effiom said that the Air Force Day was to appreciate God in a special way for his mercies and benevolence.

He said that the force had a lot to thank God for, especially in view of the successes recorded in the surveillance of the Niger Delta and the fight against insurgents in the North East Zone.

Special prayers were held for the country and family members of those who died in the North East Zone.
