Umueri Airport will boost state development - Nworah

Mr Uche Nworah, Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) says the Umueri Airport City project when completed will boost the socio-economic development of the state.

Nworah told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Awka that it will also improve the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the state.

He urged the people to embrace the immense economic opportunities of the airport which included job creation, tourism, investments in power, housing, healthcare and other sectors of the economy.

Nworah who lauded Gov.Willie Obiano of Anambra for the initiative, called for more support from people towards the development of the state.

He said that the airport scheduled for inauguration on April 11, would be one of the best airports in Africa.

NAN reports that the airport project was conceptualised as both a passenger and a cargo airport.

The partners are the state government through its investment vehicle, the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA), Orient Petroleum, Elite International Investment Ltd. and China Aviation Planning and Investment Ltd.
