The Consul-General of Switzerland in Lagos, Mr Yves Nicolet, on Thursday announced the readiness of more Swiss companies to increase their investments across the six-geo political zones of
Nigeria.

Nicolet disclosed in Lagos that 90 per cent of about 45 Swiss companies currently registered in Nigeria had their head offices in Lagos.

“Let me say that more Swiss companies and investors are ready to
increase their investments and businesses across every part of
Nigeria.

“We know that Lagos is the economic capital of Nigeria, and the
most populated city in Africa. We currently have about 90 per cent of the major presence of Swiss companies in Nigeria in Lagos.

“Many new Swiss companies and investors are currently planning to come
and take advantage of Nigeria’s investment environment and large
population.

“But, we are looking at the possibilities of creating the right
investment climate for these Swiss companies, not just in Lagos, but
across all parts of Nigeria,’’ he said.

Nicolet said that Swiss companies were conscious of the huge business
opportunities that abound across the six-geo political zones, and would
continue to spread their investments across the zones.

The consul-general said that it was the objective of his Consulate to
continue to increase bilateral relations between Switzerland and
Nigeria, this year and beyond.

“We see huge investment opportunities, a large market, great
potential and large populations everywhere in Nigeria.

“We are, therefore, going to be increasing our companies’ presence in
different parts of Nigeria, as well as increase our economic
cooperation with Nigeria,’’ he added.
