Six suspects arraigned for allegedly killing the commandant of Army School in Ibadan, Oyo State, have been remanded in Agodi prison by Magistrate R.A. Ebeloku Mustapha sitting at Omi Adio Magistrate Court six in Ibadan.

The six suspects were alleged to have robbed and murdered the Commandant of the Command Day Secondary School, Owode, Apata Ibadan, Colonel ‎Ekok Anthony Okey, on December 11, 2016.

Late Colonel Okey was killed a week to his being decorated with a new rank of Brigadier-General.

The suspects, whose pleas were not taken, were: ‎Solomon Agada Emmanuel, 20, Taiwo Adeniyi, 33, Bibisoye Kehinde a.k.a. Efrebor, 26, Ewere Andrew, 25, Udobata Orusa-Uzi, a.k.a. Kaka, 28 and Ephraim Obi, 38.

According to the charge sheet, MDD/18c/2017, the suspects were charged on a three-count offences bordering on conspiracy, robbery and murder.

The first count stated: “ The accused on December 11, 2016 at about 10.00 p.m at the Command Day Secondary School, Owode, Apata in the Magisterial District did conspire to commit felony to wit: robbery and murder, an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 324 of the Criminal Code Cap 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000”.

The second count read, “That the accused persons on the same date and same place robbed the deceased and dispossessed him of his Samsung X4, value unknown and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 401 and punishable under Section 402 (1) of the criminal code cap 38vol.11 laws of Oyo state of Nigeria 2000”.

The third count read, “The accused persons did unlawfully caused the death of one Colonel Ekok Anthony Okey, Male, 52, by throwing him from a storey building onto the floor which led to his death, and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 31 f and punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code Cap 38, Vol.11 Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000”.

The case has been adjourned to March 28 for mention.
