Traditional ruler's son kidnapped in Port Harcourt

Prince Fortune Obumgbada, son of the paramount ruler of Rumualogu community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, has been kidnapped.

Four days after his abduction, no word has been heard from his abductors.

He was snatched last Sunday on his way from church in company of his family members, including his wife who was hit by the kidnappers’ bullet.

The Chairman of Rumualogu Community Development Committee, Gift Nwaru confirmed the kidnapping, adding that the kidnappers were yet to make contact with the family.

Nwaru called for the support of the state government to boost security for inhabitants of Rumualogu, just as he called for the unconditional release of Prince Obumgbada.

The CDC chairman also appealed to the government to reconsider the ban on community vigilante groups.

He said Rumualogu community leaders were willing to partner with the government and security agencies to check criminality in the area.
