The match was played at the FIFA Goal Project pitch at the `Package B’ of the Abuja National Stadium.

Rivers Angels converted four of their five spot kicks, while their opponents only converted three.

At the post matching briefing, Christopher Danjuma, Head Coach of Nasarawa Amazon, said he was, however, pleased with the performance of his team.

“Remember, we ended third position last season and this season, we came second. It is indeed a great improvement for my team.

“It was a game of supremacy and my team played well. They did not give their opponents a scoring chance which was why it ended in penalty shootout,’’ Danjuma said.

His counterpart, Godwin Okon, said he was happy with the performance of his team, adding that Rivers Angels deserved the win.

“Our target was to replicate our performance in the Women Federation Cup in 2016. I am happy that the players made me proud again.

“My players were determined to win. We had good records in 2015/2016 NWFL and Women Federation Cup,’’ he said.
