Two goals from Chelsea sensation, Victor Moses and another goal from Mikel Obi gave Nigeria’s national team, the Super Eagles 3-1 victory against Algeria in 2018 World Cup qualifying match in Uyo, Nigeria.

The result ensured that Nigeria maintain a perfect start in the qualifiers and stands top in Group B with maximum six points from two games so far.

Nabilr Bentaleb got Algeria’s only goal of the match but it was not enough to stop the rampaging Nigerian team made up of mostly young players.

The Eagles took the lead on 25 minutes through Moses who burst into the Algerian defence before sliding a low shot past Raise M’Bolhi in goal for the visitors.

Manchester City sensation, Kelechi Iheanacho almost doubled the Eagles lead on 30 minutes but could not connect with Moses’ cross.

Algerian had a wonderful chance to equalize on 37 minutes but Nabil Bentaleb could not direct his effort to goal.

Mikel made it 2-0 on 42 minutes finishing off Oghenekaro Etebo after beating the offside trap.

Algeria almost halved the deficit in first half added time through Mahrez but Leon Balogun made a timely block for a corner.

Mahrez went close for Algeria on 48 minutes after dancing his way into the Eagles 18 yard but Balogun made a good block for a corner.

In the 59 minute Saphir Taiser aimed a straight shot from just outside the box after a poor clearance by Ogenyi Onazi but his effort went wide.

Eagles made their first change with Abdullahi Shehu replacing Kenneth Omeruo who went off injured.

Bentaleb drew a goal back for Algeria on 67 minutes rifling in a left foot strike which found the top right hand corner.

Complete Sports reportd that in the 75 minute, Brahimi took a left foot shot which flashed across the Eagles goal.

A minute later the Eagles made their second change with Ahmed Musa coming in for Alex Iwobi.

On 83 minutes the Eagles made their final change with Wilfred Ndidi replacing Mikel.

On 84 minutes Musa almost scored the third for the Eagles but could not direct his left shot towards goal.

Iheanacho had a golden chance to seal the game on 90 minutes but sent his effort narrowly off target.

Moses extended the Eagles lead on 92nd minute finishing off a brilliant counter attack and from Musa’s low cross.
