Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife has warned him that she may not back him at the next election unless he shakes up his government as the government has been hijacked.
In a BBC Hausa interview, Aisha Buhari said the president “does not know” most of the top officials he has appointed.
She suggested the government had been hijacked, saying a “few people” were behind presidential appointments.
Mrs Buhari says that the appointees were “not familiar with the party’s manifesto and its vision”.
She warns that if changes are not implemented she would not be supporting her husband for a second term: “I am not going to be part of any movement again,” she adds.
