Eid-el-Kabir: Tourist sites in Badagry await fun seekers

Most of the tourist sites in Badagry Area of Lagos State are well prepared to host visitors and fun-seekers during the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

A visit by a correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) to the sites showed that various activities have been lined up for fun seekers during the two-day break.

Places visited included: Suntan Beach, Whispering Palms, Seriki Abass Museum and Fams Embassy Hotel.

Others include: Beach Town Supermarket, Mie Restaurant and Tuse Cafe Restaurant.

At the Suntan Beach, bouncing castles, swings, amongst others, have been provided for fun seekers and other people who would visit the beach during the holidays.

An official in charge of the beach, Mr Tosin Akande, said that the management had provided recreational facilities for visitors.

“We are expecting many people during these holidays; so we have provided many recreational facilities to accommodate as many people as possible.

“Also, in terms of security and safety, various measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of our visitors and we have never experienced any form of mishap in the past.

“We intend to maintain and improve on that,” Akande said.

The Whispering Palms Resort has been redecorated and beautified.

Prof. Femi Pearse, Chairman of the resort told NAN that various activities had been lined up for visitors who would come around during the break.

“We have lined up activities like boat regatta, boat cruise, picnics and games, among others for visitors that would come around.

“We already have visitors around and we are still expecting more during the holidays; so we have created many exciting things to keep our guests excited during the break,” Pearse said.

A Tour Guide for Seriki Abass Museum, Mr Anago Adeleke, told NAN that the site was prepared to receive fun seekers from all over the country.

“We have various activities lined up for fun seekers who would be visiting here during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

“Apart from touring the site to see the various relics, there would be a boat cruise that would take fun seekers to the Gberefu Island which is popularly known as Point-of-No-Return to see the slave route and other tourist sites.

“We have carried out all these to ensure that people have a great time when they come around,” Adeleke said.

At Fams Embassy Hotel, talents hunt and musical show has been put in place for fun seekers.

Similarly, Tuse Cafe and Mie Restaurant have also provided recreational activities for its various customers.
