‘Ramadan Football Competition’, organised by the Local Football Coaches Association (LFCA) in Kuje, FCT, aimed at entertaining residents during the fasting period and talent discovery, kicked-off on Monday.

10 teams are participating in the competition.

In a Group A match at the Kuje Area Council Township Stadium, Tsofofi United defeated Lucky Stars by 2-0 in the opening match of the competition.

Abdulahi Ahmed, with jersey Number 40, scored the two goals in the 35th and 80th minutes to secure victory for his team.

Lucky Stars FC created several goal scoring chances in the early stage of the game but striker, Chinedu Eze, failed to utilise them until the 85th-minute through a penalty kick.

Mathew Jaba, Head Coach of Tsofofi, said after the match that he was proud of his boys, adding: “This has shown that my boys know how to play good football.

“We played a very good brand of football for everybody to see and also dictated the pace of the game.
