Oshoala visits Winners Golden Bet, seeks support for FC Robo

Liverpool Ladies’ star, Nigerian Asisat Lamina Oshoala paid a courtesy visit to the Corporate Headquarters of Winners Golden Bet (WGB) in Lagos to solicit support of the country’s leading sports betting company for her former club, FC Robo.

The 2014 African Women Footballer award winner began her football career at FC Robo, a Lagos-based female football club in 2009.

Oshoala, who was received by the Executive Director of Winners Golden Bet (WGB) Mr. Olabanji Sulaiman and Assistant General Manager of the company, Mr. Adedeji Beecroft, said that with the pedigree of WGB in Lagos as a dependable supporter of sports, she believes there is urgent need for her to solicit the company’s support for FC Robo to discover budding talents like her in the future.

“I want to really appreciate what Winners Golden Bet has been doing to sponsor sporting activities in Lagos. That is the reason I want this great company to extend its kind gesture to FC Robo, the club where I was discovered some few years back. I believe it won’t be out of place if the club can discover many players like me.

“I understand that Winners Golden Bet is proud sponsor of Lagos FA Cup, Lagos State Under 15 Tennis Championship and some others. This is a good company which is developing sports from the grassroots,” said the former player of Rivers Angels who has had 17 caps in the senior national team, the Super Falcons, and scored 11 goals.

Executive Director of Winners Golden Bet, Mr. Sulaiman lauded the contributions of Oshoala to the national team, adding that it is time Nigerians began to appreciate the contributions of players like Oshoala to football development in the country.
