The police in Lagos State command have intensified efforts to arrest a man who allegedly raped a 14-year old girl and fled his home to evade arrest.
The suspect identified as Bidemi allegedly forcefully had carnal knowledge of the victim and when he was caught by neighbours, he fled and since then he had not returned to his house.
The incident happened at Aige street, Orile Agege, Lagos, western Nigeria, where he resides with the victim’s parents.
P.M.NEWS gathered that the suspect reportedly lured the victim into his apartment under false pretence of sending her on an errand.
It was learnt when the victim entered his apartment, he locked his door and forcefully threw her on his bed.
When the victim resisted and started screaming, he closed her mouth and tore her pant and penetrated her.
When their neighbours heard the noise form his apartment, Bidemi was forced to open his door.
He immediately rushed out of his apartment and has not been seen since the incident happened.
The victim who had bruises and blood coming out from her private part was taken to a hospital.
According to the police, the victim was badly injured and was taken to Agege General Hospital where she receiving treatment and other medical examinations.
The Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, who confirmed the incident, said the police have begun investigation on the matter and are making efforts to arrest the suspect.
