Unlike in the first round of matches in the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), all teams playing at home took the shine off their visitors to win their respective matches played Wednesday evening at various centres across the country.

New boys, MFM FC beat Rivers United 2-1 at Agege Stadium. Ifeanyi Ifeanyi of MFM scored from the spot in the 18th minute and Obomate made it two for the Lagos-based team in the 24th minute. Rivers United scored their lone goal of the tie through Obomate in the 57th minute.

Two goals from Chisom Chikatara and Olaha ensured that Abia Warriors secured the three points at home, though Mustapha Ibrahim pulled one back for El Kanemi.

Despite taking the lead in the 8th minute through Kim John, Plateau United were subdued by Rangers International at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Enugu.

The Flying Antelopes scored three goals against their visitors Plateau United through Togaba Komlan (54th minute), Nnamdi Anyasodo (66th minute) and the dying minutes goal from Chisom Egbuchulam.

At the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, Lobi Stars got the best out of Sunshine Stars of Akure in a 2-1 home win. Anthony Okpotu of Lobi scored a brace in the 36th and 70th minute, while Sunshine scored their lone goal in the 68th minute through Emmanuel Sunday.

This allows the likes of FC Ifeanyiubah, Shooting Stars and Ikorodu United to recharge their batteries and further plan ahead of their next games in the coming match day.
