Ogunyemi said this in an interview with NAN in Osogbo on Friday.

He said that though Nigeria had lot of competent medical doctors to handle series of ailments, some wealthy individuals still chose to travel abroad for medical tourism.

Ogunyemi said that a lot of politicians in the country were guilty of the act, adding that they also did so to collect estacode for their trips.

“We have the necessary human resources and Nigerian doctors can manage almost all human ailments, including heart failure and renal transplantation,” he said.

The chairman, however, stressed the need for government to improve on the provision of health infrastructure to enable hospitals handle most ailments, especially kidney and renal failure.

He said that if government provides enough funds and upgrade government hospitals to world standard, there would be no cogent reason for anybody to travel out of the country for medical treatment.
