Mrs Lillian Ikombia Davies, the Bursar of Kenule Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic Bori,the Rivers State owned Polytechnic and Dr Iba Lebari ,a lecturer in the Department of Management of the University of Port Harcourt have been separately kidnapped at different locations in the state on their way home after work.

Mrs Davies was allegedly trailed by the kidnappers from Bori before she was intercepted at Akpajo-Eleme, along the East-West road in Eleme Local Government area of Rivers State on Monday.

Dr Iba Lebari was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen after close of work.

The whereabouts of the victims remained unknown at press time.

The management of the University of Port Harcourt has condemned the kidnap of Dr Lebari and called for his unconditional release.

A statement by the Deputy Registrar, Dr Williams Wodi, on behalf of the institution said the kidnapped lecturer has some medical issues that needed regular medication and should no be in solitary confinement.

The Rivers Police Command had not reacted to the two abductions at the time of this report.

Governor Nyesom Wike had charged the 22 Caretaker Committee Chairmen to work with security agencies to stem the tide of kidnappings in the local government areas.

Governor Wike threatened to sack any chairman where kidnappings are recorded.
