7 Arrested For Vandalising Oil Pipelines

The police in Lagos, western Nigeria, have arrested seven suspects for their alleged involvement in vandalising petroleum pipeline in the state.

The suspects are James Enoch, Obadanupare Felix, Eboh Angel and Marshal Isaac.

Others are Ebirisehae Perewei, Mefun Justice and Warinnimi Ojugbamuni.

The police said that there was reasonable cause to believe that the suspects were behind the breaking of pipelines across the federation.

The suspects were brought before Isolo Magistrates’ court for an order to remand in custody pending when they will be charged to High Court.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the suspects were arrested by men of the Nigerian Navy on patrol after which they were handed over to the police for prosecution.
Offensive weapons were also recovered from them which they used to break the pipes and siphon petrol illegally and sell to the public.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs A. O . Adedayo granted the request and ordered the suspects to be remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the arrest of their leader, James Enoch, who resides at 5, Surulere street, Agbowa, Ikosi area in Lagos led to the arrest of other suspects in various parts of Lagos, Ogun and Ondo states.
There has been incessant vandalization of pipelines in various areas which has been of serious concern to the government.
