President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday in Abuja hosted World leaders to a presidential luncheon where he thanked them for their support and goodwill to Nigeria.

Represented by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Buhari also thanked those who attended or sent representatives to his inauguration as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

“I have to thank you on his (President Muhammadu Buhari’s) behalf and on behalf of the Nigerian government and people for making the time to come to this inauguration ceremony and to this luncheon.

“This particular, ceremony is one that is very dear to our hearts as a people because over the past two months there has been a clarion call for change and today marks the beginning of that change and we are extremely happy.

“We also like to thank you for the outpouring of support and goodwill which we have experienced since the announcement of the results of the elections.

“Today marks in many ways the beginning of that change.

“This has buoyed our confidence a great deal and has renewed our commitment to ensuring that we do not disappoint all of you who have strongly supported us and who even now are here to offer their support and solidarity.

“We thank you very much, indeed.”

According to him, Nigeria remains committed to strengthening its bilateral relations with countries across the world.

He said Nigeria would continue to partner the rest of the world in uplifting the quality of life of mankind.

“Our country remains committed to strengthening all of the bonds that tie us together as people and human beings on the face of earth, especially a commitment to a more equal world, a commitment to greater posterity for all and a commitment to lifting our very many people out of poverty across the world,” the president said.
