Bauchi state governor-elect, Mohammed Abubakar, on Sunday expressed gratitude to the people of the state for voting him into office.
Abubakar made the commendation in Bauchi while addressing newsmen after results of the April 11 elections were announced.
He promised to introduce new policies and programmes that would uplift the living standard of the people of the state.
Abubakar appealed to the people of the state to celebrate the victory with caution, to avoid violence or injuries on supporters.
He further commended the people for “their wisdom and foresight for voting out any leader who fails to deliver”.
The governor-elect promised to introduce new programmes for youths and women as well as reinvigorate the civil service, to make it more effective.
