The Federal Government has approved N250 billion for the establishment of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs), Vice President Namadi Sambo, said in Jos on Monday.

Sambo, who spoke at the inauguration of President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election in Plateau, said that N5 billion had been allocated to Plateau.

He challenged entrepreneurs to take advantage of the Federal Government’s gesture to explore abundant resources on the Plateau and open the path to greater industrialisation.

He said that the Federal Government had also approved N27 billion for dry season farming on the Plateau to encourage farmers to take advantage of the good weather to develop their potential.

He said that government had also set up a machinery to consistently create jobs with a target of 2 million per year.

Sambo disclosed that the rail system was back on track and explained that rail mass transits would begin in the next few days.

According to him, commuters will be transported from Jos to Port Harcourt, Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, and many other cities.

The vice president urged the people to ensure massive votes for the Jonathan/Sambo, to continue to enjoy
dividends of democracy.
