NAN in Port Harcourt that the attack was caused by unemployment and rivalry amongst some political parties in the state.

NAN recalls that APC supporters in Buguma, Asari- Turu and Khana local government areas, were on Tuesday attacked by unknown group on their way to Port Harcourt to attend the party’s presidential campaign flag-off.

“We have people working in banks, people working in offices, who were doing their jobs while this rally was on and none of them went to attack anybody.
So, it shows the level of unemployment in the state.

“So, if we want to tackle insecurity in the state, we must look at making sure that our young people are gainfully employed, so that instead of going to carry arms, they will be in their offices working.”

Minaibim said that the provision of security was part of his seven-point agenda, if elected governor under the platform of the SDP.
