Lagos police arrrests 2, recovers arms, cannabis

The Lagos State Police Command on Monday announced the arrest of two suspected armed robbers in Oke-Ira, Ogba area of the state.

DSP Ngozi Braide, the state Police Public Relations Officer, made the announcement in a signed statement made available to NAN in Lagos.

She said that suspects were arrested on 4 September.

She named the suspects as Ugochukwu Dike, of No. 9, Adekunle St, off Modupe St. Oke-Ira and Rasaki Abowaba of No. 40, Fadeyi St. Ogba.

“They were arrested by men attached to the Area ‘G’, Ogba Division while on patrol at Oke-Ira, on Sept. 4, at about 2:00 p.m.

“A locally made pistol and some weeds suspected to be cannabis were recovered from the suspects,” Braide said, adding that the case was being investigated by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, Lagos.
