However, some members of the party in Wurno local govenrment had petitioned its state caretaker committee, alleging attempts by some party leaders to impose candidates on them.

The spokesman of the group, Kabiru Achida, who is also a member of the caretaker committtee of the party in Wurno local government, told newsmen in Achida on Saturday that they wanted justice to be done.

“Some members of the party in the area were earlier disenfranchised as they were not registered during the recent registration exercise,” Achida, alleged.

He also said that the members were supporting the conduct of free and fair elections and not imposition.

The Chairman of the caretaker committee of the Party in the state, Alhaji Abdullahi Santali, debunked the allegations as baseless and unfounded.

“We supported the idea of consensus and it had worked. We are aware of the petition from Wurno and we are attending to it.

“Any member who is not satisfied with the use of consensus can petition us and we will do justice to it,” Santali promised.
