Nigeria’s indigenous telecoms company, Globacom, has felicitated with workers on the occasion of the International Workers’ Day and enjoined them to continue to amplify the virtues of hard work and excellence in the course of their duties.

Globacom Group Chief Operating Officer, Mohamed Jameel, in a solidarity message to workers commended the resilient spirit of workers in spite of daunting odds and urged them to uphold and celebrate the dignity of labour, adding that every legitimate job is intrinsic to the quest to build a vibrant society.

The company which operates in a number of African countries lauded the efforts of workers the world over in harnessing other factors of production to make life better for all.

“We salute workers on this auspicious ceremony and commend them for the hard work, commitment, resourcefulness and industry which have continued to grow economies of nations. No doubt, the most important resource in the world is labour. It is a sine qua non for life and humanity in general as workers nurture dreams to reality,” Globacom’s statement read.

It urged employers of labour to continue to give topmost priorities to the welfare of employees with a view to stimulating enhanced productivity.

“The theme of this year’s celebration ‘Building enduring peace and unity: Panacea for sustainable national development’ is very apt and underscores the importance of peace and unity as prerequisite for sustainable development. We call on all Nigerians to unite in addressing current security challenges in the country,” Glo said.
