Thirteen years old Mariam Odey fondly called Mimi made her love for music public when she exhibited her talent with the rendition of Beyonce’s hit song Drink In Love.
Mimi who recently celebrated her birthday amid encomiums, while music buffs and critics have rated the single very high. There are opinions in some circles that in no time, she could mature into an award-winning singer like Asa and others.
Apparently set to take music beyond a mere hobby, Mimi told P.M.NEWS Entertainment Café that she wants to make music as a career after schooling.
Watchers of the Nigerian entertainment scene have also described her as sharing a musical identity and texture that has the strength and uniqueness of Beyonce.
Mariam (Mimi) Odey hails from Ogoja, Cross River State. She attends St. Anthony’s High School, Surulere, Lagos, where she is set to write her junior secondary school certificate exam very soon.
