Nollywood movie director, Lancelot Imasuen, is set to release his latest historic movie Invasion 1897.
The movie focuses on how the colonial British Army launched an attack against Benin Kingdom, sacked the city and sent Oba Ovonramwen to Calabar into exile.
The attack was to avenge the defeat by the Binis of a British invasion force that violated Benin in 1896.
Ovonramwen Nogbaisi, who died in 1914, is the hero of the film, and it has a star-studded cast that included British actor, Rudolph Walker, Chucky Venn, Segun Arinze, Charles Inojie, Mike Omoregbe and Paul Obazele.
The film was shot in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
