The Meeting, an award-winning movie produced by star actress Rita Dominic and Mildred Okwo-owned The Audrey Silva Company has been released on DVD.
The movie was released on 1 January nationwide, and fillers reaching P.M.NEWS Showbiz Trends suggested that DVD vendors have been making brisk business since its release.
The Meeting was nominated in 15 categories for five different award platforms, and so far, the movie boasts of several awards from Nigeria Entertainment Awards; Africa Movie Academy Awards, AMAA; Nollywood Movie Awards, NMA; Africa International film festival, AFRIFF, and Eloy Awards.
“We were under pressure to release The Meeting in 2013 but we needed to ensure that we put out a quality product,” said Mildred Okwo, Managing Director of TASC.
Okwo added that the Special Limited Edition DVD of The Meeting was manufactured outside Nigeria because there are only two DVD plants in the country. The DVD includes images of the making of the movie and the spectacular premiere event at the Oriental Hotel late last year.
The Meeting tells the story of Lagos-based corporate executive Makinde Esho (Femi Jacobs) who goes to Abuja for a meeting with a government minister and finds himself at the mercy of political patronage, bureaucratic red tape and his tender heart.
Rita Dominic, Nse Ikpe Etim, and Linda Ejiofor among others star in The Meeting.
