All is set for the commencement of this year’s The Headies with the host of The Veteran’s Night 2013 tonight 22 December.
The event, in its second year, will hold at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. It was conceived to celebrate the achievement of Nigeria’s music stars of yesteryears.
“This is sure to be another memorable occasion. Come watch today’s stars sing the evergreen hits and classics from all the veterans you love,” said Ayo Animashaun, executive producer, The Headies.
Last year’s event saw today’s top artistes like Darey, 2Face, Waje and Tosin Martins performed some of the hit tracks of the Veterans like Sir Victor Olaiya, Shina Peters, Onyeka Onwenu etc.
“It was a resounding success with many of Nigeria’s music legends attending and watching with admiration as today’s stars sang their golden hits and classics,” Aminashaun added.
Ace comedian, Ali Baba will be tonight’s host, while the list of performers include Tosin Martins, Jaywon and Sound Sultan.
Meanwhile, the main Headies’ is holding on 26 December, Boxing Day, at the Grand Ball Room of the Oriental Hotel, Lekki.
Marvin Records duo of sensational singer Tiwa Savage and Dr. Sid, have been announced as hosts for the award ceremony.
Among top acts listed to perform during the award ceremony are Davido, Praiz, Naeto C, D’banj, Waje, Sean Tizzle, Seyi Shay, May D, Banky W, Iyanya, Olamide and Phyno.
“We have saved the best for the last and you don’t want to miss The Headies 2013. It will surpass all past breathtaking editions ever held,” Animashaun assured.
