Alapomeji crooner 9ice will be leading other top acts like Lord of Ajasa, Ara, Danny Young and fuji musician, Akande Obesere, to spice up the 2013 edition of the annual Mare Festival holding in Idanre, Ondo State this weekend.
The event will begin on Friday13 and end on Saturday 14 December.Kayode Akinmade, the State’s Commissioner for Information and Chairman Local Organizing Committee of the event, said the acts will join the state’s cultural ambassadors and some local acts to pep up the festival which has also been designed to honour Deji Falae, the late Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in the state.
Some of the ambassadors are King Sunny Ade, Bimbo Oshin, Yemi Blaq, Funsho Adeolu, Jibola Dabo, Ayanbinrin , Mo’ Abudu and Dupe Umosen.
Akinmade explained that local musicians, cultural troupes, and local security outfits would be involved during the festival, adding that colorful T-shirts would be distributed to identified groups in the community.
He noted that the 2013 edition of the annual fiesta would be low-keyed in order to celebrate the late Falae.
