Kanu, Okocha Hail Keshi’s Team

Former captains of the Super Eagles, Kanu Nwankwo and Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha have applauded the Nigerian team for qualifying to play in the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Kanu and Okocha who were at the U,J Eusene Stadium, Calabar, Cross River State to watch the crucial second leg of the World Cup playoffs were elated that Nigeria will be among the 32 countries of the world going to Brazil for the Mundial.

“We have to applaud the effort put in by coaches and players of the Eagles to secure this World Cup ticket. They really tried and I think they deserve our commendation,” said Kanu, who called on the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to prepare the team very well for the World Cup.

To Okocha, the qualification of the Eagles for the World Cup and the support they received from Nigerians during the 17 months qualifying campaign, has again demonstrated the good things that can come out when people unite to fight a cause.

“The Eagles have shown to us what we can achieve as a united nation even with our diversity. I want to commend the Eagles for picking the World Cup ticket,” said the former Bolton Wanderers of England star.
