Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has began deploying over 362 electricity generating sets to the 362 wards across Anambra State in preparation for tomorrow’s election. The generators were deployed as INEC cannot rely on power supply from the national grid.
The generators were transported to the wards by Toyota Hilux trucks.
An INEC official explained to P.M.NEWS that most of the generators transported to the wards were not newly purchased.
He said the generators have been in the store but were serviced.
The official who refused to be identified said that “during elections we need to ensure that all materials for the election are on ground and one of such materials is the generators we have here,” he said.
