Amodu said that Iyayi was brought in dead to the hospital few minutes after noon on Tuesday.

He said that the National Welfare Officer of ASUU, Dr Ngozi Ilo and Dr Anthoni Emina, were also brought to the hospital with various degrees of injuries and fracture.

The medical director said that the possible cause of late Iyayi’s death might be a left rib injury which, he said. penetrated into his heart.

He also talked of shock as the late professor was believed to be hypertensive and had some drugs found on him as at the time of the crash.

Amodu said that both Ilo and Emina had also been evacuated from the Specialist Hospital in Lokoja to other hospitals outside the state by their relations.

He explained that all the victims were treated free of charge as directed by Gov. Idris Wada of Kogi.

Meanwhile, FRSC state Sector Command, Mr Olakunle Motajo, told newsmen that full investigation into the remote and immediate cause of the accident had begun.

He said that it was too early to apportion blame on any of the two drivers of the vehicles involved, saying that no arrest had been made so far.

Late Prof. Iyayi, along with other members of ASUU, were on their way to Kano to attend the NEC meeting of the union when their bus and a car on Gov. Wada Idris motorcade collided.

In most countries, whether in Africa or elsewhere, only the President or head of state goes around in any sort of motorcade. Governors have just one or two policemen around them for protection.

In fact, Kogi State governor needed sanction, imagine, a governor who supposed to remain in his state to over see what is happening within the state but always on Abuja – Lokoja road, is he governing the Kogi state or FCT? Since he came to power several killings by his convoy within and outside the state had occured. Is he there to be travelling and be killing innocient people, and left his state like where barns?.

Many of you never reason that one day you will will vacate the stool and another person will take over. You people are just thinking of today as if today does not have an “END” Many of you are just “MYOPIC” in nature but you know the right but you decided not to follow the right…. But the day of judgement is coming one day that you shall give accounts of your life……………..useless people
