In Pictures: President Jonathan now JP

99 53

President Goodluck Jonathan, now a Jeruslaem Pilgrim, JP, began his pilgrimage to Israel in earnest today, visiting several Biblical sites.

He was accompanied by Christian state governors and ministers.

The governors are Martins Elechi of Ebonyi state, Peter Obi of Anambra, Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom state, Gabriel Suswam of Benue, Jonah Jang of Plateau state and Theodore Orji of Abia State. The minister of information, Labaran Maku and minister of agriculture, Akinwunmi Adesina. The camera probably missed Princess Stella Oduah of the aviation ministry, who is also on the trip.

Our greatest prolem in our religious followership is hypocracy. The rulers nd the ruled will shout halleluyah in churches nd Allahu akbar in mosques but when they are out of these places of worships they are the most w icked human beings on earth.Of what use is the religion to us if it cannot transform into God fearing human beings who will always do the right things as all the religions teach

  2. karlson

if jona knws hes incompetent enuf he should hand over power, simple.touring around israel with convoys of governos nd co in d name of pilgrimage i jst hope dat can solve problem.jonathan shuld knw dat a good christian show love nd care to people nd hez nt showing it Asuu!all dey wish z travelling around d world wit our money with no positive change in return.gosh

  3. jos blis

since the leaders continue to waste our money, war must destroy this country Nigeria must be divided

  4. Moses

Majority of u posting irrelevant things and shouting unemployment in nigeria, if i may ask u, what did u study when u are in sch. U wil say u studied “MUSIC” and u are looking 4 white kola job. I wil advise u 2 buckle ur shoe and make smtn happen at ur door step. Millions can run a race, but one person wil win. Pls live Jonathan alone and find something doing.

  5. pang

i we agee wit jonathan jp only returnin to niger to do the follwin 1 call amaechi and end crisis he started, tell jona jang to submit to ngf leadership of amaech, setle ASUU wat govnment promise, peak de truth on his agrement wit de north, sack stella odugha ,if u do dis tins den we call ur trip prigimage or else is toarism

  6. korme

Religious trips should be a personal thing not on public funds.

  7. yusuf babatunde

I think GEJ have the right to perform pilgrimage just like his muslim counterpart does.We should be concern more on issues that will project the unity and oneness of the country, rather than expressing our political disparity.Even ,Quran also talk about equity and justice in any organisation or activities so GEJ has done nothing wrong by performing pilgrimage.

  8. Chinedu

pls know that the president is only performing his religion obligation. some state govs. went to mecca no body heard or discuss it on national scale while the president. or do you pple wnt force him to b Muslim?. n part of the trip is also for bilateral relationship with Israel.
pls let us not incur God judgement on ourselves.
    thanks

  9. Raji

When these child molesters go that their shrine in one Arab country, no one sees it. Shame on you terrorists.

  10. kamor

For God sake, what is this JP with no origin of any sort. Please call it sight-seen. It has no religious significant or reward.

What a waste of public funds. God bless Nigeria and we pray for focused President on 2015.

  11. jamesons

For the past hundred years northeners have been going in and out of mecca and medina for pilgrimage, usually with taxpayers’ money and there are no protests from the long- suffering southeners. Each year they go for several such jamborees including the lesser and minors ones and come back with ‘alhaji’ which simpy means a ‘stranger’. Now that nigerian christians feel that they can immitate the northern moslems as an equitable means of shearing the national cake ( a.k.a federal characters), it is these same northerners that would recruit their southern political pimps to oppose their rivals and cast aspersion on the southerners brand of foreign worship…. the kettle calling the pot black?

  12. yusuf babatunde

I can only tell those that are uttering all such of dirty language on yoruba to stop it.Yorubas are the most law abiding region in the country, presently we ‘ve been marginalised by the jonathan govt but despite that,we still remain calm. Even the northerns that dominate the coriridor of power are the one making the country ungovernable, simply because they always like to be no 1 or can we say that boko aram insurgent does not have full political backing ?And southwest is the most peaceful region in the country presently beleave it or not

  13. Joy

Its disheartening that many Nigerians comment dis way, despite al d wrongs of our leaders in the land some pple still feels na ma turn to chop,it ll b better u call a spade a spade nd stop dis ethnic divisionism, lets rememba d yorubas ve ruled nd d current administratn didnt giv them positions bt remember tomorrow is anoda’s turn,so if u feel u re gain something frm d mischievous nd criminal acts of our present political leaders, tomorrow he wnt b there nd u or ur loved ones may ve to pay for the injustice u paid to his brodas nd sisters,so nigerians lets shun ethnic chauvinism nd division, there must be a change in govt quickly under unless things ll be too unhealthy for us all to bear, simple truth.God bless nigeria.

I am shocked on the kind of words people are using about GEJ without giving us statistics and data of reason for their condemnation.

The problem of Nigeria were not invented by GEJ and believe or not he is taking it one step at a time and we are getting there.

All of you that are condemning GEJ can you tell us what will be the the solution to all/few of Nigerian’s problems. Yes it is easy to identify problems but what we want to hear are the solutions. Note not the ASUU type that wants all other activities of the government to shut down so that they can have their way.

Please let us be patriotic and play our individual roles if you really want this country to move forward. GEJ is the best for now we have no other match or alternative if you have bring we will all support him/her if the person is truly the best, or is it Tinubu waooooo what is happening with HITECH that can hardly boast of any successful road completion for more than a decade in existence; just a pipe for siphoning money.

  15. Justice

Can you see how bold these chaps are? They are even playing God, went to Holy Land when they left thier dormain in a bloody manner. God is too calm or are Nigerians not created by God. Who did we offend in nigeria that God just kept mute?

    1. Baron Samedi

A lot of the people who make comments here are fools. Is Jonathan not a human being again? Hasn’t other leaders worshipping other gods not gone on a pilgrimage? Must Jona take permission from the commentators here before he makes any move? I see that the so called majority tribes (mainly Yoruba people) who couldn’t even develop their own zone are the ones crying the most about Jona. Tomorrow will come with a different setting and we will remember. Even the muslim mallams do no insult or hate Jona the way Yorubas do.
I am also beginning to jump into the hate wagon and show my hatred for any Yoruba man or woman who comes my way. Two can play.

      1. Omo Ijebu

Drug/kidnap Baron, the west is still the most developed in Nigeria. Go back to Bayelsa where Alamayesigb or Alamala are using your resources to sleep with prostitute. Stop hating the west, leave Lagos and go to oloibiri Bayelsa!

  16. THE PUNDIT

All you haters, if you don’t like it, go and hug the transformer. GEJ is your President, speak about him with respect.

    1. Omo Ijebu

Pundit your children will suffer from what he is doing, just as your father suffered from the sins of the past and you are suffering too now! Together your family will hug the transformer one after the other.

  17. naubiko

@Bennkwocha..which masses are you talking about? The one that has his kids schooling abroad or the one that’s affected by ASUU strike,no light,no water that struggles to eat 3 square meals?
I beg I need you to redefine the word “Masses”….

  18. Evans

    The big Zoo call Nigeria

  19. SA100

GEJ…..Against 2015 I guess? Where is the Aviation Minister? Had she been locked over there? Or She stays at the hotel painting face? Can someone answer me?

  20. Bennkwocha

Our president is a man of good conscience. He is God fearing.Oppositions are just sentimental. They should be constructive in their critisms. One thing is the more they criticise him the more he gains more favour from the masses.I thank God for his visit to the Holly City.A GOOD OMEN

  21. Bennkwocha

  22. Solomon Olaribigbe JP

This can only happen in Nigeria, While the nation’s ordinary citizens live in abject penury and proverty, GEJ and other shameless members of the delegation, find it expedient to undergo a pilgrimage to Jerusalem, albeit at taxpayer expenses. It is a shame. While on personal pilgrimage to Jerusalem last year May, I was shocked to see the names of ex- Governor Alao Akala and Gbenga Daniel, of Oyo and Ogun States respectively, printed on a marble stone at the site that depicts the ten commandments in various languages. Given that the representation they gave to Nigeria is noble, but it would have been more gratifying and commendable if it was done with their personal money. But your guess is as good as mine. Nigerians need to make our public leader account for how our resources are being put to use. Our politicians do not know the difference between personal money and that of the public, once they get into elective office, they just abuse such positions, forgetting that one day if Nigerians can not collectively make them accountable, the sovereign God Jehovah will bring them to judgement. A word is enough for the wise.

  23. Marcel

please, leave GEJ alone. a single broom cannot sweep. We all have a responsibility to take this nation to the next level. Search and Judge yourself and see if you have played your own part of the National Transformation if not personal enrichment.

    1. Uchenna

Bros Marcel, God bless you. I remeber the Woman that was caught in the VERY ACT of dultery. All the “holy ones” that wnated to have her stoned met with the OWNER of LIFE who KNEW all sins and there was no hiding place for them. One day it shall be like that for all the Self acclaimed righteous ones in Nigeria. God save us

  24. New Nig Advocate

    OMG……..from NIGEria to DRAMAria

  25. SULE

May this JP(Jerusalem pilgrim) indeed become a true JP(JUSTICE OF THE PEACE, JUSTICE OF THE PEOPLE, JUSTICE OF THE POOR)

  26. naubiko

I Love my people…JP…ALHAJI…OTUNBA… we have them..But do we really pratice what we preach.I remember someone said on this forum if I “the First and the last christian died 2000yrs ago” I believe that. CAN president is even trying to muster votes for GEJ in appreciation for his private jet.
When are we people going leave God alone as he’s given us everything we need to face our problems squarely. God will not come down from heaven to solve our greed, corruption and ignorance. Do we really love our neighour as ourselve to stop stealing their wealth. That is all Christ and even Islam is asking of us..
This I believe is a Vote winner for Nigerians and I believe 2015 is in the bag with the amount of prayer banked Niger style.

  27. Patience jonathan

    Talk about clueless foolishness!

  28. Don 1

All praise to God almaighty. But seing the present situiation of the state, this is NOT the right time to do (go) to Jeruselem but the right time to seat, think, calculate, be adviced, strategize, plan and execute plans. This tour worth millions of naira, yet, 1:infrastructual decay still lies in University in Nigeria 2: Boko Haram is still a challenge, 3 PHCN are also on strike. Pls Goodluck return home and fixed OUR Nigeria because we still love it.

    1. woseibotei Akpatawei

If this is not the right time when is the right time? When Jesus came to the world you betrayed him and sold him for thirty pieces of silver, you oppose any thing righteous and still accusing those that want to amend their ways. Why are you always thinking of evil continually in your heart. You need to repent and seek God where He may be found.this is not the right.

  29. ANTHONY I OMISORE

God says He will not cast away anyone that seek Him. Whatever or wherever we error if we honor Him for sure He can do all things this I believe: For the earth is the LORD’S and that dwells therein. Thank you LORD JESUS.

  30. frank J

When assuming office after Yar Adua died GEJ went to Adeboye in Redeem to kneel down, when contesting the last election he also went to Redeem(local 419), now na Jerusalem(Foreign 419) , this man is always using Church, CAN (with Ayo Oritsejafor as campaign manager) to deceive Nigerians especially Christians. Jonathan, If u love God show it by showing love and being good to your neigbhour, act like a Christian.
Someone who lied that he did not sign zoning, denying the agreement reached with ASUU, parading 3children from 3different mothers and sleeping with his mistress’ sister (Allison Diezeani Madueke) is going to deceive himself in Jerusalem. All dis pilgrimage na to win election and further punish Nigerians that voted him in.

    1. Desmond Derefaka

I am really sorry for your words on RCCG pastor in quote local 419, May the good lord forgive you. There are people you should be careful to comment on. For your own good, go and pray to God for forgiveness.

      1. Omo Ijebu

So you do not have a problem with the foreign 419 , but the local 419 he mentioned. Nigerians are the most stupid set of people when it comes to religion. They worship men and not God again. I would have supported your comment but cutting off Jerusalem and promoting your church is just not it. Stop following blindly. You are worshiping men of god and not God of men.

    2. woseibotei Akpatawei

But Frank. J, who are you that placing Jonathan on the scale? Are you sure if you are elected as the president of this country you will do better? You are not God and you have no temerity to utter all the stupid statement against a leader. You better be careful and have the fear of God in your head, heart and blood. You better leave every thing for God to decide. People like you are in evil occult and would not be satisfied with the efforts of others. Nigerian leaders are not the most corrupt people in the world. I know that you are fighting for the opposition parties. You will surely pay for it and God shall punish you if you do not repent, be careful, becareful.

    3. charles

This comment lacks respect and is very abusive, leadership does not prevent us from going to place of worship. the man may not have done well by our calculation but he needs to be respected.

    4. Garden-City Boy

The only way to prove this 2nd term gentleman agreement controversy is for Hausa people to produce documents as evidence. Aliyu Babangida is a “Dr”, so is Ango Abdulahi who is a “Prof” (though some say it is a quota-based professorship). But they should be wise enough to disprove GEJ. Without any receipts to show, we take it as the usual Hausa lie. Jonathan could not have signed any such stupid agreement with mullahs.

    5. Uchenna

Oga Frank, u seem to have wonderful facts and evidences. I would rather advice you use your “EVIDENCES WISELY”.
People can only hail you for your “facts” but when the consequences come, you will hear them people earlier hailing you turning a new leaf.

  31. Don Mike ( De Tiger )

Will JP change his ncompetency? Will JP give him conscience to declare his assets? Will JP make him to honor the contentious agreement he signed with Northern desperadoes in his desperate effort to clinch power in 2011? Will JP make him to not to be vindictive ? Of course no! He is just on a usual tourism! No miracle can change the nature of a millipede.

The world is really in trouble with this decease called CHRISTO-VIRAL infections. If not a religious madness, how does this tourism or religious excursion to Isreali ancient shrines affect Nigerians positively?

That Medium called Oritsejafor has been on such tourist propaganda for many times but have not even positively impacted on his immediate community let alone Nigeria. What is his achievement as CAN president other than being presidential spokesman and Political adviser to President on tribal Jabs.

Some of these highbinders got to position of authority through human rituals and obeisance to Poweful Juju temples… They are Human being during the day and poisonous snakes at night.

Akpabio on Pilgrimage to Isreali too? Akpabio is another Daniel Elebo ( sacrifice bearer) in that region. Look at his face like that of Ibadan Tokyo. ( Ibadan NURTW former chairman).

Half of these victims of this Christo-viral infection who believe they re performing a pleasing ritual before their God were sponsored by Federal Government. Yet they are Still pushing through the Jonathan inflicted hardship back home. What an indirect slavery.

    All the best !

    Don Mike ( De Tiger)

    1. Mr Mean

I really do not know when our so called leaders in Nigeria will stop playing on our collective sensibilities. In thier own judgement, they think wr are all dafts.
What a shame. Religious Pilgrimage is a personal thing. Why embark on it now with a retinue of governors and other state officials with tax payers money and its attendant profligacy of splashing the pictures of the trip for the word to see when back home, ASUU is still on strike. The Aviation Minister who coincidentally is on this Shameless trip is embroiled in stealing public fund. The Medical doctors are on strike. The insecurity in the land has reached an embarrasing stage. There is massive hunger and unemployment in the land.
This pilgrimage us nothing but the case of an Ostrich that buries its head in the sand and leaving its entire body bare hoping the hunter will pass by without seeing it.
GEJ’S GOVERNMENT IS THE WORST NIGERIANS HAVE EVER SEEN. What a shame

    2. Strikforce Osung

Dino(de tiger)dnt teks tyns 4granted,always b mindful of ur tenses mostly in public.I blieved d way u sounded u lack manner.Dinoless knw dat power is 4rm God.so continue 2cry nobody send u.naughty guy

      1. omo Ijebu

Desist from commenting if you do not have anything meaningful to contribute. is the dude not saying the truth? how is all these religious facade change the situation in Nigeria? Faith without work is death! tell your brother to stop the killing in the north, sack Oduah for fund misappropriation, listen to ASUU members, build hospitals to help the sick, create jobs for the youths, restore power, stop corruption, how is visit going to help. Pentecostalism is killing Christianity.

    3. Kings Ukaoha

What you said was indeed a bitter pill for us to swallow because you spoke the truth and thanks so much even though some religious and tribal bigots will end up twisting the facts later…JP or no JP, no miracle on earth can change the nature of a millipede..

    4. freeman

Madness is not only wen u go unclad in a market place or street( I doubt if ur r free from that). This is typical of a insane man, wallydrag, myopic, uncouth,fuddy-duddy ibianto. U think coming 2 social media with ur tirade ll heal U of ur conundrum? Pls I advice u 2 visit a strong man of God 2 save u from ur apogee of insanity. U can thank me later.

      1. Bed Bug

@ Freeman, your use of English is very poor. Must you blow grammar? Try and consult your dictionary properly before coming here to blow incorrect English.

    5. Nwakaego

Jerusalem is not heaven folks. Only the righteous can enter there. However, those who think they are better off without Christ should know they have been deceived.

    6. Uchenna

Gentlemen, you have all said weel. However, not seeing anything good in our leaders is NOT GOOG ENOUGH. No disgruntled follower has EVER made it to the TOP. Even when they do, they can never lead well because they NEVER follwed well.

One by one you saw the ILLS of all of them. I do HP{E you are BETTER.
