The Plateau Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) on Tuesday reaffirmed its readiness to conduct the local government council elections 21 December, 2013, and advised members of the public to ignore any rumour to the contrary.
“There is no going back on the stipulated date of 21 December for the conduct of the local government,” PLASIEC declared through its Public Relations Officer, Mrs Christiana Choji.
Choji told NAN that the commission was ready to conduct a “free and fair elections,” adding that all necessary arrangements were already in place for that.
“The Commission still stands by the election timetable released to all political parties on 2 September, 2013. PLASIEC also wishes to remind political parties that collection and return of PLASIEC form 001 by parties will end on 7 November,” she declared.
Choji also solicited for full cooperation toward a successful poll.
