Saturday’s elimination from the Project Fame show took an interesting dimension as all the contestants battled to escape eviction. The show started with tributes to Luther Vandross (1951-2005) and Teddy Pendergrass (1950-2010) as all the contestants performed some of their hit tracks.

The representative of Alexander Forbes was invited to present the envelope containing the names of the five contestants with the least number of votes. They were Blessing, David, Johnny, Jimoh and Nancy.

Without much ado, they took to the stage one after the other, repeating the songs they performed the previous weekend. After what seemed like a battle of wits, the judges confessed that it was difficult to make a choice as all the performances were spectacular.

However, the judges saved David; faculty chose Jimoh and contestants not on probation snatched Blessing from the claws of eviction. This left Nancy and Johnny eliminated from the competition. Nancy and Johnny both expressed their gratitude to God, faculty, judges and everyone that has supported them one way or the other while their stay in the competition lasted.

On Sunday, the remaining 10 contestants continued the race as they performed to survive in the show.

Starting off with some of the world’s greatest hits was Omolayo who sang I Wish by Lighthouse Family. This was followed by Margaret who performed Nothing Compares To You by Third Day, while Roland wowed with Gotham City by R Kelly.
