After an exciting regional audition, the Maltina Dance All family show will hit television screens across the nation on 1 September.

Tagged: “The Evolution”, MDA show will continue on a daily basis until the grand finale which will be held on 21 September at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

After a gruelling and exciting regional audition in Port Harcourt, Abuja and Lagos, the judges selected 13 out of the 25 family representatives short-listed from various regions. They are Ebute, Ebenezer, Dosa, Briggs, Ibrahim and Clement families.

Others are Asiyefia, Ekado, Enweribe, Ikumoinein Tom, Ibeatuchie and Idundun families.

The number would be further reduced to 10 families who will eventually be admitted into the MDA academy.

Speaking about the show, Ngozi Nkwoji, Senior Brand Manager, Maltina, stated that they are very excited about the seventh season of MDA.

“We put a lot of work into it. Every year, there is something bigger and better. What we are doing with Maltina Dance All is to share happiness and to also create more emotional connection with consumers because families and dance are two winning components in the Nigerian environment. Nigerians love to dance.”

The maiden 2007 edition produced the Onye family. In 2008, it was the Opuwari family that carted away the star prize; in 2009 the nation’s best dance family was the Ibiams.

In 2010 the Adejohs held sway and in 2011 the Ekubohs showed Nigerians why they were crowned the number one dance family. Year 2012 saw the Greens crowned the best dance family with the unforgettable swinging moves of Opus and his sister.

A cash prize of N6 million and a brand new car is at stake in this year’s edition. The first and second Runners Up will also get N1 million and N500,000 respectively.
