Sharks winger, Anthony Okemmiri has said his side need the three points in the Port Harcourt derby more than hosts and city mates, Dolphins.

The Blue Angels will be guests of city rivals, Dolphins in mid-week’s Glo Premier League Match day 25 encounter at the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt.

The first fixture match involving both sides ended goalless at the Sharks Stadium, Port Harcourt. Okemmiri said his side want to use the encounter to prove to doubters of their capability to stand shoulder high than the strong tide threatening the side at the moment. “Of course, we’re not yet comfortable on the log and need the three points more than our opponents, Dolphins.

“We understand we must step up our game to be able to climb out of the trouble water and the local showdown affords us the rare opportunity to earn the points that will improve our position on the log.”

“We’re not taking the encounter lightly as we returned almost immediately to the training pitch after the massive victory against Gombe United on Sunday in Port Harcourt.

“That win will surely spur us on for another resounding victory at Dolphins.

“We’re not under any illusion that the encounter will be cheap not even after Dolphins were humbled in Akure on Sunday by Sunshine Stars but we’ve no option than to put everything right to grab the maximum points.

“We also want to make a bold statement with the encounter once again that we’re the landlords of Port Harcourt and to those who are not convinced of our capacity to overcome the present setback that we’re in-charge of the situation,” said the former Kwara United strongman to supersport.com.

Sharks are 19th on the 20-team Premier League log on 30 points from possible 72.
