Governor of Nigeria’s Central Bank, Prince Sanusi Lamido Sanusi on Sunday in Kano, north-west Nigeria staged a lavish honour for the wife, Sadiya who he described as the “Pillar” of all of his successes.

Sanusi, a radical banker who is also eyeing the throne of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero installed Sadiya as Giwar Danmaje.

The lanky northern scholar who was conferred Majen Kano by Emir Ado Bayero was in the ancient commercial city to observe the traditional rites of the Eid-El-Fitr.

The honour to Sadiya was also part of the fanfare to mark the forthcoming Silver Jubilee of the lover-birds—Sunusi and Sadiya.

According to Sanusi, the woman in his life—Sadiya, has been “a pillar of stability” on the home front, adding that “credit goes to this woman of blue blood that proved to be a pillar of peace in all my trying periods.

“The decision to confer this title on this woman of substance was a sign of gratitude for the positive role she has played in my life over the last twenty five years in marriage. I married Sadiya 25 years ago during the silver jubilee of the revered Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero. By next December, it would be exactly 25 years of eventful wedlock.”
