Don’t Incite Igbos Against Lagos, Fashola Warns Obi

Gov. Babatunde Raji Fashola

Kazeem Ugbodaga

Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola has warned his counterpart in Anambra State, Peter Obi not to incite the Igbos against the Lagos state government, following the recent bussing of of some Igbo destitute to Onitsha.

Fashola, spoke with newsmen on Thursday after inspecting the on-going light rail project and Jetties in Mile 2 area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

The governor accused Obi of playing politics with the matter and using the media to blow the issue out of proportion, saying that the governor has not deemed it fit to call him on the issue, only for him to make it a media issue.

“There is too much at stake for anyone to begin to incite the Igbo community against their host state. There is too much at stake here. It is a very dangerous and unwarranted precedent.

“And I hope that common sense will prevail here. Also those who are baying for blood should know that there is too much at risk here. When I get a formal complaint from the government of Anambra State or notification from the Presidency, I will lay the facts bare.

“It is unfortunate that my colleague governor has made this a media issue. As I speak, I haven’t received any telephone call or letter from him to complain and I don’t think that is the way government works. On less important matters like this, he had called me before,” he stated.

According to Fashola “this is a political season and Anambra will be up for contest and in a political season, unusual things happen and perhaps we are living in an interesting times. And some of the evidence was when one see two adults kissing on television, it tells you that some things are afoot.”

He added that it was regrettable when one saw issues of governance being trivialized or tried on the pages of newspaper, with all sorts of columnists writing on it.

On Obi reporting him to the presidency on the issue, the governor said he was not aware if there was any place in the constitution that gave the president the power to adjudicate in disputes between states.

“Yes, I know that the president has a moral authority because he is the head of the sovereign state of the country. But I am not aware that the constitution states that the dispute between states should be settled by the Presidency.

“If Anambra State has an issue on this matter, and they feel aggrieved, they should call or write to us. I feel that the final arbiter should be the court. And it is really important to say that our hospitality in Lagos state is legendary. And it is a global legend that the people of Lagos State are hospitable people and so is the present government of the state and previous administrations,” he said.

Fashola stated that there is a large Igbo population in the state and that their presence was evident in Alaba with the Alaba International Market and the ASPAMDA market, saying that they are doing their business peacefully while the state government is working tirelessly to provide the required transport system, that would help improve the travel time and their businesses.

  1. 2 Fresheads found in a hotel in the S.EAStern part of Nigeria Africa. A child on school holiday were among those picked up at the hotel where the decomposing heads were found, A reverend who ate at the Hotel earlier complained about the 700 naira tagged on a piece of meat .He (reverend father) just found out it was human flesh. other news……. New York(financial capital of the world) Mayor Blooomsberg(a Billionaire) who did not get paid a cent in his first year on the job, in 2007 -sent out( destitutes,scumbags,low-lifers) to other us states-9 they were conveyed on various greyhounds) back to their states of origin- on a continous -hopefull rehabilitation. Well Anambra can continue the REHAB – or u want some more lagos donation .Are u self suffocacient. Gov Obi ?

  2. Mr fashola you should have officially handed these people over to anambra state government, its very simple,by telling them you picked these people without proper identification and that they need to be reunited with their families, its more proper that way than dump them in the middle of the night under a bridge, who did u dump them there for?tinibus dead mother?wonder what will happen when we run state police in these country, police is a fedral entity in this nation, police should have said no to these kind of action against nigerian citizens, bcos they are there to protect nigerians n property, rather they aided and abeted lagos state government in commiting these crime against humanity? And now you are saying peter obi should have called you rather than make it a public and press issue,if u had consulted him n told him u picked up some igbo indigenes without proper Identity n you would like them to be brought home,it wouldn’t have genereted so much fuse like its doing now, golden rule says Do not unto others that which will not be good when done unto YOU,God bless nigeria

  3. I am ashamed of some the comments I have been reading over this issue. I begin to realize that this is why our leaders take advantage of us as a people. They use tribal sentiments to put a wedge between us so that we can never speak with one voice as Nigerians. However, when politicians want to loot, they don’t see tribes or ethnicity, they are not bothered about if the money belong to their kin and kindred, they go ahead and steal unabashedly. Fashola and Obi are politicians, they are playing politics with these stunts. Have you sat down to think for once, why did Fashola “deport” these people to Anambra State? does it mean that all the Igbo destitute they could find happened to come from Anambra state? How about Imo, Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi? Do we remember that Fashola did the same thing last year to Oyo State? Obi and Fashola know where they meet, eat, drink and share money. We are here killing ourselves and writing stinkers against each other over issues of political coloration. Of the people deported, are you sure many of them wouldn’t have found their way back to Lagos? Is there any immigration at the boarder of Lagos to check that they have valid visas of re-entry? These are issues that go through my mind. Let us confront the major problems facing us as Nigerians and leave petty politics of tribalism and ethnicity alone, it is divisive and polarizing. Nigeria needs you and I to speak with one voice not singing discordant tunes painted with tribal sentiments. Many of us abusing each other online may even be friends or neighbors, but because we are playing tribal politics we don’t care. How many of us have gotten to where we are now only because we got help from the people from our tribes or villages? May God help us!

  4. Ola Lukaz you are a true son of yoruba..your generation shall continue to see see goodie…You are highly informed respect bro…I was one of the people that voted for this Fashola man but he has floored himself and not me…

  5. Fashola is nothing but a dirty pick, even as a governor he never looks smart and I wonder when he will ever look smart in his life time given the position he has attained , he said that ibo man constitute nuisance and commits crime in Lagos state where as no body constitute nuisance than the so called dirty yoruba people. 70% of income tax are generated from ibo people and ibos contributes 70% of Lagos growth commercially and yet some of you dirty yorubas like Ogbeni who is not even a first class yoruba man… As far as I am concerned Lagos is not a yoruba land and if you dare claim that that Lagos is a yoruba land the nyou please tell me the meaning of the word Lagos…. Dirty people…

  6. It baffles me when people complain about the actions of Lagos State government. I can categorically tell us that Lagos remains the most hospitable, friendly and lucrative area in the whole of West Africa. Rather than attack the problem, we tend to tribalized the entire actions. The Igbos can virtually not function in any area effectively and competitively other than Lagos. Rather than the South East leaders concerntrate in creating a business friendly enviroment to their people, their focus is to further impoverish the people with impunity. No wonder violent crimes are prevalent in the region. How many non indigenes can boast of possessing a C of O in the East? This explains the hostile nature of their communities.

  7. Who made Lagos what it is today, Are they not from other states of the federation?
Why deport if not for political reason.
    Shame on u Fashola.
We demand ur immediate resignation now for going against the constitution of the federal republic.

  8. SENTIMENTS APART, MR FASHOLA HAS INDEED GOOFED AND I THINK HE KNOWS IT TOO. THE HIGH HANDEDNESS OF HIS GOVERNMENT OVER THE YEARS WITHOUT ANY OPPOSITION HAS LED HIM TO COMMIT THIS CONSTITUTIONAL FAUX PAS. I AM CERTAIN THAT IN HIS SOBER MOMENTS, THE MUST HAVE TOLD HIMSELF THE HOME TRUTH THAT HE HAS INDEED MESSED UP AND BIG TIME TOO! I HOPE THE LEARNED SILK IS ABLE TO EXTRICATE HIM FROM IT ALL ON TIME TO STOP FURTHER DAMAGE TO HIS POLITICAL CAREER AND CREDENTIALS. TRYING TO JUSTIFY THE ERROR IN HIS JUDGMENT IN THE ABOVE REPORT IS VERY SILLY AND HIGHLY INSULTING TO LAGOSIANS WHO VOTED HIS PARTY INTO POWER. I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING HIM SERVE THE NATION IN GREATER CAPACITY IN THE NEAREST FUTURE. BUT THEN, I AM NOW HAVING A RETHINK: WHETHER A TRIBALIST CAN SERVE THE GREATER INTEREST OF GREATER NIGERIAN WITHOUT FURTHER JEOPARDIZING HER EXISTING FAULT LINES . MY GOVERNOR, I AM SO DISAPPOINTED. YET, I STILL BELIEVE THAT YOU CAN DO WHAT OTHER POLITICIANS HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DO: ADMIT YOUR ERROR AND MAKE AMENDS.NO MATTER YOUR DECISION, PLEASE BE ASSURED THAT I STILL BELIEVE IN FASHOLA THE VISIONEER BUT WILL FIND A WAY TO DEAL WITH MY DISAPPOINTMENT IN THE EMERGING FASHOLA: THE ETHNIC JINGOIST. EKO O NI BAJE O.

    • Stop playing to the gallery. Stop being an apologist. What are you trying to achieve:pacify your igbo in-laws?

  9. THE TRUTH IS VERY BITTER. ONE DAY, THE IGBOS WILL LOOK BACK AND REGRET THEIR ACTIONS OF TODAY. THERE ARE THREE MAJOR TRIBES IN NIGERIA. ANY TRIBE THAT WANTS TO CONFRONT THE OTHER TWO SIMULTANEOUSLY SHOULD EITHER BE READY TO SECEDE OR TO BE RELEGATED TO THE BACKGROUND.
FOR THE PAST 8 YEARS, LAGOS STATE APPOINTED AN IGBOMAN AS A KEY COMMISSIONER IN ITS CABINET. IS THIS NOT ENOUGH REASON TO SHOW ITS LOVE? RELOCATING DESTITUTE, LOITERERS AND SECURITY RISK PEOPLE TO THEIR HOME STATE IS A WELCOME DEVELOPMENT AND IT WILL MAKE OTHER STATE GOVERNMENT WAKE UP TO THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES … LET THE IGBOS CONTINUE SHOUTING … WE ARE USED TO THEM!!!

  10. the truth is that tomorrow holds a pregnancy, and what is in the belly I fearfully unknown…if igbo leaves nigeria or lagos state what if the baby to be born is for ibo’s?…then we all will rethink….well peace shuld be the key to every situation.

  11. Gov. Fashola can you please disregard this ignorance because they have no case & if they want to establish a case they should first & foremost tackle Gov. Orji of Abia state that SACKED ALL THE CIVIL SERVANTS FROM ANAMBRA, IMO,ENUGU,EBOYIN ETC from Abia state government service, did any of this yam heads complain? But many of them are civil servants/teaching commission in Lagos & other SW states,in fact some them are retired collecting pension. If they go who will lose. They are very backward because they don’t accommodate strangers. THEY SHOULD GO TO BLAZES IF THEY ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH LAGOS STATE DECISION.

  12. I have said it several times on this forum and will continue to say it again and again that NNAMDI AZIKWE was the cause of all problems the Ibo people are facing now. Awolowo gave him the opportunity to serve his people, develop their land and put them on the map of technology-inclined tribes of this world, he failed woefully on this part. Instead, he wanted to become the ‘Zik of Afrika’. God saved the Yorubas when Awolowo’s initiatives prevented him from becoming Yoruba’s Premier in the 50’s, he would have squandered their resources just the way he did to his region when Awolowo forced him to go to the east to rule.
Again, Ojukwu gave him another opportunity to liberate the Igbo people from this migrant status they have acquired for themselves, he refused to recognize Biafra because he doesn’t want Ojukwu to become the everlasting Hero of that revolution because to him, Ojukwu might not allow him to shine in the new State of Biafra. Had he recognized Biafra then, the Western World would have allowed Biafra to stay and Ibos will today have had a country of their own that would be technology driven.
The young Ibo guys that are writing on this forum blaming the Yorubas should rather blame their forefathers in politics rather than venting their anger on the peace-loving people of Yorubaland. Go to Iboland, the place is empty of meaningful development and most Ibos control Billions. They would rather waste that money on enjoyment in another region than using it to develop theirs so if Fashola is now giving them the opportunity to go to their land and develop it, I think they should grab it instead of throwing pebbles at him.

  13. fashola should have known that a lot are at stake before taking that decision to bundle these harmless Nigerians and dumping them at the mercies of God know what at upper iweka,i believe there are so much still to be done to better the lives of the common man than chasing the citizens away from their own country. the roads are bad,no pipe borne water, high cost of rental apartments, low standard of living etc etc, who will address all these issue,if not the government? i dont think he has a justifiable reason(s) for that inhuman treatment meted out to these people.

  14. Gov. Fashola don’t mind OBI or who ever is saying nonsense. Lagos appoints an Ibo man into the government of lagos state Is that possible in Imo, Abia, Anambra or any other Eastern state of Nigeria? Lagos is one of the states that is merciful to every tribes so if Obi is talking nonsense let him continue to branga.

    • Gov. 15. MR FASHOLA GOING HOME PLEASE. FASHOLA FAMILY ARE THEY FROM LAGOS, FASHOLA WANT TO DEPORT EVERYBODY NOT ONLY IGBOS ALSO YORUBAS FASHOLA HIMSELF SHOULD GO HOME TO HIS STATE OF ORIGIN WERE HIS FORE FATHER CAME TO LAGOS. NOBODY CAN CLAIM LAGOS COS EVERYBODY IN LAGOS STILL HAVE WERE HIS FORE FATHER CAME FROM SO MR FASHOLA ENOUGH OF ALL THIS. YOU HAVE BETTER THING TO HANDLE THAN TAKING PEOPLE TO THEIR STATE.SO DEAR IGBOS PLEASE STAY IN LAGOS FOR BETTER OF ALL NIGERIA. GO HOME MR FASHOLA

  16. I think Julius said it all , I know a state can’t builed a city alone both I know ibos and only Ibos is the only people that can build acity in ibo land. I cry for my people because of there lack understanding.

  17. Good to ndigbo. they should remember what ojukwu told them. now is just the beginning. Igbos should also remember what awolowo and other yorubas did to them before and after the war.no matter how much you have in the bank then ,awo paid only 25naira.Yoruba are saboteurs . pitty to any Igbo or Hausa man who should trust any Yoruba man.they are snake and will disappoint you when it really matters.June 12 1993 supposed to teach them lesson. look at the governor saying a lot is at stake and that its a risk. I don’t blame him but the foolish igbos who build mansion in Lagos state.remember that its easy to destroy than to build.careless talk and actions brings chaos and and not peace only peaceful settlement of issues gives good result. any political merger between any eastern Governor and the west will still not work. so let us try now and develop Igbo land instead of wasting our resources in Lagos and north a stitch in time saves nine.

    • @ fred julius, it seems you are a little bit sensible among the Igbos whose senses cant go beyond crimes. But if you call the Yorubas snakes, what do you call your people? SAINTS ANGELS.LOL!!!

    • @Fred Julius; Will your kidnapping, assasinations and ritual murders allow your so called “foolish Igbo” build masions in their land? The Igbos are better off in Yoruba lands were equity dominates. Advice your Igbo folks to shun crime in their host communities as the deported only constitute a minute proportion of Igbos in the South West.

  18. Every yoruba man is evil, a nation with over 201 gods yet godless. they are incubi and demon incarnates. They mixed islam with their devilish concoction likewise christainity. very lazy people, how many of them are here in kano as beggars yet they are sending innocent Nigeria away from Lagos because Federal government and people have finished building it for them.

    • @ Adams tell Kano state government or any state government anywhere in Nigeria to send any Yoruba man/woman the see begging back to Yorubaland. they will be welcome by their state governments & will rehabilitate them without complain, unlike those of crying & weeping because you are sent back to your caves just because you dont want to be useful for yourselves.

    • Adams
Every yoruba man is evil.@adams u r very stupid 4 dat statement.I mean very stupid.letz face d problem as 1 Nation nd enof wt d discriminatns already.

  19. @Ogbu Paul, thanks for your comment.I can see you nagging & struggling in pains like a trapped serpent. With you Igbos bragging & boasting all over the world,WHY ARE YOU SCARED & AFRAID OF RETURNING TO YOUR BIAFRA CAVES & DENS,WHILE HAVE DECIDED TO CONTINUE STAYING IN LAGOS & OTHER PARTS OF THE COUNTRY WHERE YOU HAVE BEEN UNGRATEFUL TO YOUR HOSTS. If you are really sure of yourselves & if you think your Biafra can survive for 5 years without another civil war within your Biafra, you all should return home & stay for just a week.If you all survive it then your Biafra will survive, but if cant, I will advise you to consider your continuous punishment where you are .

  20. You are the adult I see here, Bode. I can now understand why Bible says that in the last days, nations, kingdoms will rise against one another. Humanity should beware

  21. No need to say I am Yoruba, you know it from my name. Nigeria belongs to all of us. It is not now in the 21st century that we need to fight, quarrel or argue over nothing. We need to come together, pray together, work together to build Nigeria of our dream. A Nigeria where no one is discriminated against. A Nigeria that is prosperous and where future generations will not suffer, but have plenty and live in affluence. Both human and material resources abound in Nigeria, which if properly developed will benefit everybody irrespective of where you come from in the country. Let us work to stamp out greed and corruption from Nigeria and we will have a beautiful country all of us will be proud of. God bless each and every Nigerian, God Bless Nigeria!!!

  22. If only my brothers will come back home and use their God given talent and hardworking to establish their businesses and leave those enemy of progress alone.where were yorubas when the igbos are developing lagos with their hard earned. Money, the igbos still remain the Golden Eagle. As for ogbeni, just like the way ur name sound. Ur a big fool!

    • @wendy you people always sees others as fools, who is now a fool when you are busy working like elephants, using the money to develop your host communities while your region is backward?TELL ME WHO IS A FOOL?We shall soon know who is a fool.IGBOS OR YORUBAS SINCE YOU HAVE NOT LEARNED FROM HISTORY, YOU FOOLS FOR 2nd TIME.

  23. It still baffles me dat we nigerians talk abt deportation of nigerians inside nigeria, dis is common sense,we dont even hv to debate on it, its sounds so odd…

  24. Ogbeni as he called himself is a begger in the street of lagos,i knew him well as a destitude whoms happines is dat his competitors had reduced.I can see dat u are a paralysed person who hav time to boast about his Yuroba extract.A bastard dat was picked from guta cannot even tell d part of SW where he came from.I got imformation dat Fulani-herdsmen inpregnated Ogbeni’s mother whom lata gav birth to him & discarded him into a guta.OGBENI ,try to findout about Yourself and ur silly governor.

  25. Our great fathers who came before us,made lagos & other cities in nigeria the we are today,they never fought over citizenship;lets keep loving one another.Nigeria is a blessed nation;

  26. Lets address the issues here without calling names. Most of your comments are actually channel towards the same direction which is DEVELOPMENT of the Igbo man. I think it is very disrespectful for Fashola to do what he did. He did that without calling Obi, and its really surprising and hypocritical of him to expect Obi to call him. ( I think he was really childish here and) It obvious he is pursuing a non Nigerian agenda which could transcend to be treasonable! He is a lawyer and should know the consequences. However, I really think it is a wake up call for the Igbo to go back home and develop their place. It is quite funny when I see an Igbo man building castles in Lagos and abandoning their villages. I can tell you basically that the Igbos are the reason for the high cost of living in Lagos. An Igbo man pay ridiculous rents just to ensure he stays in a particular place while the Yorubas would rather use that rent to find himself a land to build a small place and continue developing it while he lives in it. ( WHO IS THE SICK ONE HERE)? FASHOLA may have been right to send them back but this is CONSTITUTIONALLY WRONG and should be addressed!

  27. Lets be mindful of our languages whenever national issues comes up.Lagos is highly populated today because she was the first capital of our great nation, and still our commercial capital ;it is every nigerians state just like Abuja;its no one’s making but God;The Governor should ask God for more grace and wisdom. We are one nigeria.Stop abusing one another over what hath been before our great fathers, there fought over anything. The north, south, east, west,& all the mids, middle loved one another;even now.My brother /sister don’t be greedy.Be your brother’s keeper.

  28. @ don tiger,u write like a child…..u guys will be d same people to condemn the british govt for their immigration laws…if u say everybody shld stay where he or she is frm, develop and do businesses on their home soil…den no nigerian even has d right to stay abroad….

  29. I am happy that the chickens are coming home to roost. Ndigbo have gone through indescribable hardship in Nigeria but they refuse to learn. The abandoned property issue is not quite 50 years not to mention the tons of blood of Ndigbo shed in mostly Norther Nigeria.
I hope Fashola can find a legal loop hole to disposes them of those things that make my people think that money is more important than their life and dignity.
The irony is that Nigeria spent money and blood to force Biafra back into Nigeria .. I am confused by Lagos state and others up North.

  30. Just like the real Ogbeni, ogbeni u are a fool just like Awolowo.see dis is Nigeria and it belongs to everybody.Igbos needs time to cleanse thier land first.By God’s grace i dont have regards to the stupid rule of Nigeria law.If u try it during my own time,Both baboons and dogs will b soaked with blood in yoruba land.wait,Time is coming for vengeance.Yoruba race will not only be wiped out,we wud go ahead and siaez the land.Go and ask palestin.fool!we are Nigerian jews and we are proud of it.wait in 36 years to come.Idiot

    • @Kelvin there you goo so can you see how foolish you & your people can be.We are still saying the same thing. So you people know that your land is cursed & polutted with evil money made from blood money, that is why you want to cleanse it.LOL!!!!. Please can you tell us how long will it take you to cleanse your spiritually polluted,God forsaken & cursed land so that we can give you more time.

  31. Let me express my opinion in a more simple language so that
those Igbo Pariahs at Alaba Market, Ladipo Market, Ajangbadi,
Okokomaiko, Sari Iganmu, Ikotun Egbe and few of them who
have means to live in Mainland can understand me better !

Igbo people are quick to talk with excessive pride about their
entrepreneurial skills… But one wonders why can’t they develop
Enugu and shun Lagos… The truth remains that they are all
afraid of their villages… They all hate themselves, yet take the
peace loving people of South West Nigeria for granted.

What they can’t try in Kaduna or Kano, they commit and go Scot
free in Lagos…. A typical Igbo man who relocates to Lagos for
Kidnapping or Robbery dare not try such crime in his village
    for the fear of AMADIOHA….

Yet, these bastards will leave the village and migrate to Lagos
to be living on Crime… I am not exonerating other tribes from
crime, but lets take a visit to Police Cell and call the register
one after the other… what you hear is Chinedu, Ejike,
Chukwuemeka, Chioma, before you hear Garuba, Haruna
from North and later the one Lukumon from Ibadan. Each
state should be allowed to enact Laws affecting her Citizens.

Attempt to uphold the unholy amalgamation of the Nigeria
beyond 2015 will spell a great doom in this Country. Ask any
Niger Deltan, he brags about oil, Igbo man will boast about his
entrepreneurial skill, engage a Hausa man, he will display
sagacity to exploit political power as a resources or patrimony
of his forefather…. Then talk to a Yoruba man, being baptized
opportunist, he will brag about how many Professor Parrot,
Professor Antelope, Professor Vulture he has in his village
or even narrate how his father worked with Awolowo or
how his sister works in White house… Name dropping
    syndrome….

Personally, I view Gov. Fashola’s decision to return Igbo pariahs
as long overdue. Igbo people have actually become a Security
risk in Lagos and every Part of Nigeria and beyond….

My expression is based on reality… not tribalism as those
hirelings might conclude… Whichever way, they can all go to hell !

    Best wishes !

Don Mike ( De Tiger )

    • Your whole statement is full of hate. Ibos are Nigerians and have right to live where ever they like in the country. However, Your SAN governor can give N100K to a naked man when he supposed to provide service to help the poor he choose and pick which fight to fight. Please leave tribe alone. Human dignity is what we calling for. When has he the governor talk with any of the governors from other states about problems of their indigenes in Lagos? They make sound like we live in different country.

  32. It is better for Gov. Obi & other SE governors to own up to their responsibilities as governors of their states rather than sending their people to Lagos state where most of them are constituting nuisance to Lagos state environment. They should not take the kindness of the SW states to strangers for granted. Afterall how many strangers do the Igbo states host how much more tolerating them. Other regions in the Federation has been tolerating the attitude of the Igbos, majority of whom are constituting nuisance to their host states.Still they don’t see themselves as Nigerians so why are they so disturbed about their people that were sent back home to Republic of Biafra from Federal Republic of Nigeria? They always brag & boast that they have everything in their villages,so why are they making themselves liabilities & problems to others if they are self sufficient .This is not the first time this is happening, sometimes ago those beggars from the Northern part of the Federation were sent back to Kano, many Igbos applauded the decision while no Northern governor complained rather they rehabilitated their people,so why are the Igbos crying now that is their turn.It is better Governor Obi & his fellow SE governors put head together and take share of their responsibiliites & stop shifting it to Lagos & other states by rehabilitating their people. After all Yoruba,Hausa, Edo,Urhobo,Efik,Ibibios,Ogonis,Idomas ,Igalas,Igbani, Ekpeye,Ijaw etc has never been liabilities to SE states unlike what the Igbos are to other states & regions.Hence you don’t see & accepted yourselves as Nigerians, you should expect more. SO GOVERNOR OBI STOP WEEPING,your petition to the president can not help rather take share of your responsibilities

    • @ZUBY i dont care what you call me, who is goat you the Igbo or me.You that are crying for Biafra but dont want to go because of your crimes. You & your governors are crying for sending you beggars back to your country from Lagos, the same Igbos are crying that they were been deported from Kano state recently. If you have sense of belonging or reasoning faculty, this moves is to tell you that you are not wanted in those areas just as you have said that you are not Nigerians,so why cant you return to your AFRICA ISRAEL instead of forcing yourselves on Nigeians.

  33. It is better for Gov. 35. the only issue I have with the Ibo is that their leaders failed to create better environment for their own people such as infrastructure and economy environment but rather than doing that, they steal the money of the state to enrish themselves-people like Obi, Orji and others. Look what has happened in Abia state. This man is corrupt. When the governor was in Los Angeles, he and his entourages rented the most expensive hotels and all you can eat. it is sad to see a governor from a poor state but failed to govern well. I hope the ibo as a people should work against those who call themselves as leaders of the region and talk more on corruption of their leaders

    • @Ola Stephenson . How appalling that someone in USA like you can write this cramp with all the tribal connotations . How many Ibo states have you been to? Have you forgotten that SW especially Lagos was the capital of Nigeria where federal resources were used for most of its development? You are building on an already laid foundation. Every citizen has the right to live in any part of Nigeria without molestation. Why are you living in the US and not in Yorubaland? You are a tribal bigot even if you go to the moon.

    • Chintua,Stephenson has said nothing but the truth.During censors didn’t the Ibos abandon Lagos for their villages? The resources that were been allocated to their states as a result of that action, where are they? Why are they coming back to Lagos to over-tax the little resources allocated the state for? They should go back to where they were counted to enjoy the benefits[if same have not been cornered by their so-called ‘brothers’].Yes,Lagos was the Federal capital, but it is not anymore, you people can move to Abuja, abi dandan ni?

    • @chintua pls stop attacking the young man his assertions as far as I’m concerned is very objective there is nothing like tribal sentiment in what he has said, the truth still remains that Igbo leaders are too selfish, they are just after their families ans their pockets they don’t have passion for Ndigbo, they don’t consider the plight of ibo citizens in this country. That’s why our people are killed like goats in the north and non of them berths an eyebrow, they continue with whatever they are doing as if nothing has happened. This is what their govs do in their various states, governing the state as if its there private family business and impovrishing their people.

    • @Olu Stephenson, you write and reason like a toddler. Lagos was once Nigeria’s capital with virtually all Nigeria’s major industry/financial institutions cited there. Much of Nigeria’s oil boom wealth in the 70s went into the development of Lagos that was then the country’s capital. It was not the foresight or the incorruptible nature of Yoruba leaders as you would want us to believe that made Lagos what it is today. The reason why Lagos has so much population with people still trooping to Lagos is because of the high concentration of the above mentioned infrastructures by the Federal Government in Lagos. Nigerians from all nook and crannies hoping to get employment see Lagos as the first choice of place to be. Corruption is a fact in Nigeria and we have it in all the regions. Igbo leaders are not more corrupt than Yoruba leaders. Apart from Lagos State that was initially built by the Federal Govt, I do not think there is any other Yoruba state that is more developed than Anambra, Enugu or Imo State.

    • My friend shut up! how many people are lagosians? which political office holders are more corrupt? Is Lagos not a former national capital? Westerners are good in governance and u no attach ur state, but another country to your name as if USA is your last name.

  36. The problem is the issue of INDIGENE which Nigerians claim incessantly when the need arises to discriminate against a fellow citizen. Lagos state cannot support a budgeoning population without additional help from the federal unit, but it appears the center is not willing to assist them. Migration is inevitable, and when destitutes are involved or even beggars or criminals all states must find a way to handle the issue of repartriation to their various states of INDIGENESHIP. Until that INDIGENE clause is removed from the constitution these kinds of incidents will occur. Igbo’s should allow the two governors to dialogue, because there is an INDIGENE clause enshrined in the constitution. Lagos is hospitable, even has a commissioner of Igbo heritage. Can any other state show a NON INDIGENE within the executive council ? NO, so we all should let cooler heads prevail. The past incidents where Lagos has repartriated beggars to OYO, OSHUN, KANO and some other northern states as well as Abia state expelling thousands of civil servants all served to buttress the issue of indigenes. Remove the indigene clause, and solve the issue os communal wars in Plataeu and even Delta states and we as a country will be headed forward. This is a problem, and the governors should address this, but is it right ? Absolutely not, and really social safety nets can be provided for these people, and I dare say if the state of origin is billed for services provided for by another state to their indigenes this will not happen. Really if the state could get a direct payment from the FG taking it out of the statutory allowance of the offending state. Yes, offending state because by not providing a conducive atmosphere and jobs people flee certain deprssed regions for what they see as a boom town or area. Soon it will be Port Harcourt’s turn, and even Akwa Ibom. I do not believe Fashola is a tribal warrior, and why did Obi not raise the issue directly with a fellow governor Fashola ? this is not a matter of politics, rather the nasty issue of INDIGENESHIP must be tackled head on.

    • Hear this chameleon FASHOLA he says on less important matters like this, he Obi had called me before,” he stated so meaning only Obi will be calling you why don’t you call him.

Igbos I hate you as I hate Yorubas because they are great pretenders but one thing is very clear Lagos is no man lands.

It was developed by general resources of the whole nation no one can lay claim to it as well as Abuja.

If Igbos are happy with this dirty neck man called fashola keep voting for APC if not use your votes to teach them lesson but I doubt because Igbos never learn from their past.

When time draw nearer the fake king TINUBU will call the fake Igbos kings in exile and give them some markets position relax the Ladipo market problem they will all assume Igbos are accepted by Yorubas and they will in return tell their markets unions to keep votes for the wrong directions.

I want Igbos to check this out, when a new law is made in Nigeria the enforcer always use one Igbo to test the law, e.g RIBADU EFCC, Igbos when I called you people STUPID take it because that is what you people are.
