Maltina Dance All 7 Auditions Begin

Hundreds of thousands of entries have so far been received as the process of selecting Nigeria’s top dancing family begins through Maltina Dance All, the family dance television show, sponsored by Nigerian Breweries plc.

The exciting and emotional process will be kick-started this weekend 19-20 July with regional auditions in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The season 7 of the show tagged ‘The Evolution’ according to Ngozi Nkwoji, Senior Brand Manager, Maltina, is all about the emotions, excitement, fun and the unbreakable bond that ten families will showcase when they challenge themselves. They will learn and perform various dance styles from the 70s, 80s and 90s to the present in the famous Maltina Dance All Academy.

“This is going to be evolution of dance from time past to the present. The show will bring to the fore, the Nigerian people’s essence and values of sharing, happiness unity, cooperation, vitality and creativity,” Nkwoji said.

Aside Port-Harcourt, the other auditioning centres are Lagos and Abuja. The Port Harcourt event will hold at the Atrium Event Centre. For the  Lagos leg, interested families will square it up at the National Theatre on 25-27 July, and Nicon Luxury Hotel will play host to participants on 2 and  3 August.

The winning family will go home with the grand prize of N6 million and a brand new car. The first and second runners up will also get N1 million and N500,000 respectively.

MDA started in 2007 and that maiden edition was won by the Onye family. In 2008, it was the Opuwari family that carted away the star prize; the Ibiams was the nation’s best dance family in 2009. The Adejoh held sway in 2010 and in 2011 the Ekuboh showed Nigerians why they were crowned the number one dance family.

The last edition in 2012 saw the Greens crowned the best dance family with the unforgettable swinging moves of Opus and his sister.

The TV show will be aired from 1 September this year on major TV networks and video upload on YouTube and Facebook.
