Just as fast rising dancehall act, Ketchup is preparing to release new singles, he was recently announced as one of the nominees for the 2013 Nigerian Entertainment Awards holding in the United States later this year.
The entertainer was nominated in the Best New Act category alongside Burna Boy, Sean Tizzle, Seyi Shay, AjeButter 22 and Dammy Krane. “I am so excited about this nomination. It just means that all the work we have been putting in since I came back to Nigeria in 2011 has not been in vain,” he said.
Last year, Ketchup hit the music industry with hit single Show Me Yuh Rozay, a song that has rapidly shot him to limelight. And with that single rocking the airwave, streets, clubs and bars, Ketchup said he is grabbing 2013 with both arms and putting his best foot forward to make sure he records a spectacular outing this year.
Ketchup, signed to Lagos-based label PoshHills Entertainment, already has two new materials on the way —Pay As You Go and Coco Banana featuring Banky W. The new works are due for release on 11 June. “I have practically been living in the studios for months now. It has been a period of mixed blessings as I am glad getting such amazing support for my career. I am so humbled by the growth I have recorded since the release of Show Me Yuh Rozay,” he summed.
