The Lagos State Handball Association, LSHA, has said that it would send its coaches and officials on training within and outside the country, in a bid to help the growth of the sport in the state.
The association’s Technical Director, Toyin Aluko, told the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Lagos that the association’s coaches had been advised to look for international courses where they could be sent for upgrading.
Aluko, a former Liaison Officer of the National Sports Commission, NSC, in Lagos, said that the association had made up its mind to re-equip the coaches with the latest scientific rudiments in the game.
“We have been encouraging our coaches to go for courses to improve their standards in the interest of the game.
“We are determined to do everything possible to assist them to sharpen their skills, so as to make Lagos Handball, the teams to reckon with,‘’ she said.
The technical director said the association wanted its coaches and officials to always be at their best, in line with the current scientific trends in the game.
Aluko, who said that the association’s coaches had been directed to seek information about international training courses, assured that the association was determined to look for funds to sponsor them.
“We have told them to look for information about courses to improve their knowledge and we will seek the funding to support them,’’ she added.
