Funmi Odegbami recognised as 25th Most Inspirational Woman

Funmi Odegbami, the internationally renowned make-up artist has been honored as one of the 100 Most Inspirational Women in the World.

The recognition came on the heels of her nomination for two awards by the Women4Africa Awards 2013.

Funmi, daughter of Nigerian football legend, Segun Odegbami and sister of Afrobeats queen May7ven,
is also the CEO of MiNK London, founder of Makeup Show Live and a member of the Black Women in Europe Power list.

She was placed at #25 on the list of 100 Most Inspirational Woman in the World which also included the likes of the First Lady of the United States of America, Michelle Obama, Uche Eze – the founder of Bella Naija, Hon. Abike Dabiri and Oprah Winfrey among several hugely inspiring women.

Michele Obama tops the list of the 100 recognised women, which was compiled as part of the commemoration of this year’s International Women’s Day by Nigerian-based online tastemakers Olori Supergal. The compilation was also done to celebrate “women who have driven a cause one way or the other…”, according to a statement by Annabelle Brown.

Other women on the list included Tosyn Bucknor (14), Ellen Degeneres (11), Betty Irabor (70) and the late great Mother Theresa (23) just to mention a few.

On the recognition bestowed upon her, Funmi Odegbami said, “I would like to say a huge thank you to Olori Supergal for this honour. I feel extremely overwhelmed and blessed at the same time. I am not sure what’s happening in the world for someone like me to be recognised in this way, but I won’t fight it and I thank God for everything He is doing on my behalf. I started on this journey because I had a strong desire to make a real difference in the world and just like the MiNK motto, to encourage others to Dream Big too”.
