Two Evicted From Nigerian Idol Top 12

A week after the unveiling of the top 12 contestants in the ongoing Etisalat- sponsored music reality TV show, Nigerian Idol Season 3, two of the contestants, Oreoluwa Liyele, a.k.a Immaculate Victoria, and Victor Chidiebere Ijomah, a.k.a Vicci, were evicted during the first Gala Stage Result Show last week.

During the eviction exercise, held at the Dreams Studios, Omole, Lagos, the judges, some members of the studio audience and fellow contestants were in tears when the two contestants were thrown out of the show so soon.

After his eviction, Vicci, who hails from Abia State, expressed disappointment for leaving the show at that early stage. He said his eviction will not dampen his dream of making it big in the music industry.

“Music has been all I wanted to do in life and I am glad to be a part of this show. I am shocked to leave today, but I want everybody to look out for me. All I just need is someone to put me in the studio and I am so sure I will make it,” Vicci said.

Immaculate, a student of Communications and Psychology at New Jersey University, who purposely flew in from the US to compete

in the show, was teary-eyed after her eviction was announced.

The other 10 contestants left to compete for the star prize of N7.5 million cash, recording contract and brand new SUV are Safeeyat from Abuja, Debie Rise from Owerri, Joe-Emma from Abuja, Kome from Port Harcourt, Efezino from Benin, Amara from Owerri, Jay-Feel from Abuja, Abasiakan from Akwa Ibom, Dani Angus from Lagos, and Moses from Port Harcourt. During the last week’s show, they all gave strong performances, which drew glowing reviews from judges Yinka Davies, Femi Kuti and Jeffrey Daniel as well as guest judge, DJ Jimmy Jatt.
