Nigerian forward Victor Moses has shrugged off an injury he picked up in the 4-1 thrashing of Mali in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals.

The 22-year old raised concerns about being injured after contributing to two of the goals on Wednesday afternoon.

After the game he confirmed that the damage is not serious at all, vowing to play in the final against Burkina Faso. This will be the Super Eagles’ first final since 2000.

“I am fit to play. It wasn’t anything serious and I look forward to playing in the final,” he said.

Nigeria finished runners-up in the AFCON in 1984, 1988, 1990 and 2000 and won the bronze medal seven times.

“It is always a team effort and I am happy that I could add value in my team. It is not about scores but making the team happy and winning,” said Moses.

“We have worked so hard to be here, and we are hoping that we win this cup. Every player is positive and we are looking forward to give it our all.”

There’s also concerns regarding striker Emmanuel Emenike, who seemed to hurt his thigh after unleashing a powerful shot late in the game.

Nigerian officials said it’s not serious and he should be ready for the final on Sunday.
