Youngsters Trade Punches At Rowe Park

Nigeria’s Boxing fans  will be treated to exhilarating moments tomorrow, as future champions trade punches at the 38th Monthly Saturday Boxing Show slated for the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Rowe Park, Yaba in Lagos.

The event, put together to groom budding talents will feature eight Junior Secondary School students, who would trade punches in different categories.

In the first bout of the event, Zaheed Waidi of Star Boxing Club will trade punches with Sulaimon Adeyeri of Tumise Boxing Club in the 60kg category, while Taiwo Olowu of Diamond Boxing Club takes on Oladimeji Ganiu of Oluomo Boxing Club in the 64kg category.

Oriyomi Michael of Blessed Boxing Club will stand toe-to-toe with Adeshina Balogun of Kamlat Boxing Club in the 75kg category, while Azeez Latifu of Makinde International School will engage Segun Ajuwa of Army Cantonment High School in the 35kg category.

The duo of Isiaka Jamiu of Gbagada Junior High School and Gbadamosi Idris of Oduduwa Junior High School will mount the square roped in the 35kg category, while Opeyemi Okeowo of Akoka Junior High School slugs it out with Tosin Kajowa of Oduduwa Junior High School in the 35kg category.

Ruth Okenye of Oluomo Boxing Club willl put her strength to test against Yetunde Odunuga of Always Boxing Club in the only female bout of the day, while Azeez Akinola of Ilupeju Junior High School engages fisticuffs with Emmanuel David of St Lukes Junior High School in the 40kg category.
