Senator Uba Ahmed buried

The remains of Nigeria’s Second Republic Senator, Alhaji Uba Ahmed, who died in Germany last week, were on Monday buried in his hometown, Kaltungo, Gombe State.

He was aged 76.

The funeral prayer was offered at the Mai of Kaltungo’s palace at about 5.30 p.m. by Gombe State Grand Khadi, Alhaji Usman Baba-Liman.

Dignitaries at the occasion included Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, his deputy, Mr. Tha’anda Rubainu and Senator Joshua Lidani, the senator for Gombe South.

Others were; the Mai Kaltungo, Alhaji Saleh Mohammed, and the Chief of Tangale, Mr Buba Maisheru.

Speaking at the Mai Kaltungo’s palace after the funeral prayers, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Gombe, Alhaji Ahmed Yayari, described the death of Ahmed as a loss to Gombe State and Nigeria.

Yayari prayed for the repose of the soul of the senator and expressed sympathy with his family.
