Oyo ACN adopts Ajimobi state leader

Governor of Nigeria’s western state of Oyo Abiola Ajimobi, has been adopted state leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria.

The decision was taken by 11 ACN Caretaker chairmen in the capital, Ibadan.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the group also endorsed the governor for a second term in office, saying the resolution was as a result of Ajimobi’s leadership qualities and unequalled ground-breaking achievements.

According to them, the endorsement was needed to fill the vacuum created by the death of late Chief Lam Adesina, a former governor of the state who died on 11 November.

The party leaders said the resolution was a collective decision that included all the elected members of the party from Ibadanland.

Commenting on the development, Mr Nojeem Abass, the Caretaker Chairman of Ibadan North East, and Dr Busari Adebisi, the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), applauded the decision.
