A man, Akibu Ibitoye, of Olulande Area, Ilorin, on Monday approached an Ilorin Area Court to dissolve his 28 years-old marriage, alleging wife’s non-submissive and domineering attitude in the home.

Ibitoye, 68, told the court that his wife, Mariam Arinola, had not been submissive and had a domineering attitude in the home.

He told the court that the wife threatened to harm him and his new wife if her authority was violated.

“I have lost my authority as the head of the house because my wife always takes laws into her hand,” he said.

He said that the marriage was contracted in 1984 and blessed with three children, Munirat, 26, Suleiman, 23, and Mutiyat, 19.

“That was why I refused to take orders from him anymore,” she said, and pleaded with the court to give her time to make a reconciliatory move.
