Peoples Democratic Party has displayed superiority over the major opposition Congress for Progressive Change in Kaduna State when it won 22 out of the 23 local government chairmanship seats in the local government polls held on Saturday.

The elections, which many residents and analysts feared might degenerate into another crisis should PDP carry the day, later turned out to be peaceful and orderly.

Though unwilling to take chances after the results were declared, the state government beefed up security in areas identified as flash points for violence and crises.

It also drafted armed soldiers and police to major roads and border towns to maintain law and order.
